Max Farnham is a fictional character in the British soap opera Brookside.
Max Farnham arrived on Brookside Close in 1990 with wife Patricia and son Thomas. He had previously been married to Susannah and had two children, Matthew and Emily, from his first marriage. The marriage had broken up as a result of his affair with Patricia.
Max's marriage to Patricia later broke up and Max and Susannah rekindled their relationship and remarried. Their marriage went through numerous tests but crumbled following the death of their children Matthew and Emily in a car crash in April 1997, and several other dramas. Susannah herself finally died in November 2000 in a fall down the stairs.[1]
In 2001, Max married Jacqui Dixon, the surrogate mother of his son, Harry. In 2003, Max and Jacqui moved away from the close to Woolton.
Max Farnham and Jacqui Dixon sold their house to Jack Michaelson a drug dealer who terrorised the street until the other residents lynched him from the bedroom window.
Thourghout his time on Brookside Close, Max Farnham has an ongoing feud with Ron Dixon. This started when Ron put up a fence. The conflict between the neighbours escalated when Ron's daughter Jacqui had a surrogate child for Max. The hostility continued until Max left.
